A stunning and alluring necklace adorned with gold pieces and Poppy Jasper gem stones. This particular pendant piece was originally cast as an ear ornament during the Tairona period, 900AD - 1600 AD.
Two snakes with forked tongues decorate the borders with snakeskin bodies of filigree circles and woven chevron . The shedding of their skins made them a symbol of rebirth and renewal. The spiral design on the gold pieces that make up the necklace was used extensively throughout the Pre-Columbian period and was inspired by sea and land snails. The spiral is often related symbolically to the evolution of time.
