The AMAYA Jewellery collection is based on the reproduction of original Pre-Columbian jewellery and gold pieces as displayed at the gold museum in Bogotá
A rich and engaging necklace depicting the importance of wearing gold which was alluding to the sun, the divinity symbolising the origin and renewal of life. These pendants are replicas of pieces discovered from the Muisca culture. The three suns here representing sunrise, midday and sunset, Dawn to Dusk.
The gold cylindrical necklace pieces were inspired by the Pre-Columbian ceramic body/fabric roller stamps and the widely used spiral carvings. The roller stamps can be seen in the attached image.
